This steel engraving from 1906 accurately predicts the future by showing a couple using “wireless devices” over 100 years ago. It is amazing how not only science fiction books but even cartoons from the past have correctly predicted the future of technology. The most accurate part of this illustration is the prediction of the people sitting right next to each other but communicating with someone else. Sound familiar?

Damn, look at this funny, subversive cartoon; it pokes fun at those who don’t think we should use stem cells for research, as if they would somehow turn to precious babies if we didn’t use them in our laboratories.

Yes, you are supposed to feel sorry for these people. Heaven forbid someone making well over half a million dollars a year may have to pay a token of their ludicrous expendable income on taxes! That poor family went from making $545,325 a year to $523,717 a year. Don’t forget to note that the income listed is after deductions, so their actual salaries are even larger. In fact, to get that much income from capital gains mean these families have hundreds of thousands of dollars in investments already. I can’t believe how hilariously out of touch this graphic is, but then again, it came from the Wall Street Journal. Anyone making several times the median income ($52,762) can just fuck right off if they complain about not having enough spending cash leftover after taxes.

There are two common defenses for this sort of thing: They pay more taxes than you and it isn’t that much, honest.

Well, I would be happy to pay $70,000 in taxes, but currently that would mean that my tax percentage would be about 230%. I think we can all agree that a 230% tax rate is an unreasonable burden on any income bracket.

This article reflects my feelings on people who say that s ix figures isn’t much:

Obama’s first term cabinet was diverse as fuck, but now it’s time to pick replacements. Why are Conservatives complaining that the four replacements are men, as if they value diversity? Do they not remember Susan Rice? That whole thing where Republicans swore to never let her be Secretary of State? Keep in mind that Obama’s cabinet DOES have women, it’s that none of the replacements are women. The Secretary of Homeland Security is still Janet Napolitano and the Secretary of Health is still Katherine Sebelius. He isn’t even done making all of his appointments yet, chill out.
